Pitch
How high or low a note sounds
Pitch is how high or low a note sounds, set by the frequency of the vibration reaching your ear. Every note on an instrument has a definite pitch, and two notes of the same pitch sound nearly identical.
Notes an octave apart have different pitches but share a pitch class, because the harmonic series makes them closely related: they share a name, and in NoSheet a color, though which color depends on the root.
